About OrangeQS Juice
OrangeQS Juice is a Linux-based open-source operating system specifically engineered for quantum R&D labs. It provides a software environment that allows you to run your code, monitor your setup and rely on a stable infrastructure so you can focus on physics.
Juice operates by running a JupyterHub instance directly on the quantum R&D system’s control computer, which hosts multiple shared Python kernels. Each kernel is dedicated to a relevant service, such as Quantum Device Management, System Monitoring, Cryostat Control and Task Management, with a dedicated Database.
What makes Juice unique
- Rely on an Open-source framework, with documented data and API schema, and modular architecture to add user-developed extensions.
- Fully integrate monitoring and control of all instruments, equipment and sensors in a cryogenic quantum system, with the help of dashboards and databases.
- Configure safety features and user alerts based on parameter monitoring.
- Schedule task from multiple users with a task manager.
- Edit, execute, and manage user-defined code and repositories.
- Ensure compatibility with hardware providers and software backends through Quantify and SubZero.
OrangeQS Suite compatibility
The OrangeQS Suite contains the open-source frameworks and proprietary apps you need to run, automate, and scale your experiments, from cooling down the fridge to automatic qubit tune-up. OrangeQS Suite is part of the OrangeQS FLEX system.
Through Juice Extensions developed by OrangeQS, we make sure our Open-Source Frameworks are useful to quantum R&D labs, even without licensing the OrangeQS Suite. Features available in open-source Juice Extensions:
Features available for OrangeQS Juice
-
- System Monitor
- Task Manager
- Service Logs
- Report templating engine
- Notification/alarm service
- Database explorer
Features available for Quantify
-
- Plot Monitor
- Instrument Monitor
- Data browser
To unlock the full functionality of the OrangeQS Suite, you can access Proprietary Apps through an Academic, Enterprise or Enterprise Pro license. These licenses give you access to more features in Juice Extensions:
- Reporting templates
Features available for GRACE – Graph-based framework for automated calibration execution
- Graph builder
- Graph monitor
Features available for SubZero – Full control and monitoring of the cryogenic subsystem
- Fridge Monitor
- Alarm service
An open ecosystem for developers
Developers can build their own applications that integrate with OrangeQS Juice. With Juice, you have the flexibility to make these apps compatible with your system, enabling custom functionality without being limited to a fixed set of frameworks or tools.
