Freeke Heijman joins Advisory Board of OrangeQS

29-11-2024

Freeke Heijman joins the OrangeQS Board of Advisors. To support our global ambitions, she will help build out a sustainable company culture and help navigate and partner in the increasingly complex geopolitical landscape of public-private ecosystems and regulatory bodies. As a founder and until recently director of Quantum Delta NL, she brings experience with building out one of the world’s leading ecosystems and a driven team that can play a key role on the global stage. She’s joining a group of equally impressive fellow board members, with David DiVincenzo, Jan Van Schoot and René Penning de Vries.

The OrangeQS Advisory Board, featuring dr. René Penning de Vries, ir. Freeke Heijman, dr. Jan Van Schoot and prof. David DiVincenzo.

Freeke has been a driving force in the area of quantum technology development for over 10 years. She founded Quantum Delta NL in 2020 along with Ronald Hanson and Jesse Robbers and played a key role in convincing the Dutch Growth Fund to award their largest grant to the quantum ecosystem, €615 million euros in April 2021.

In The Netherlands, she has been the linking pin between the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the quantum ecosystem for many years. Her innovative development program established a bustling quantum ecosystem in The Netherlands with top-level research and industry players. She has been instrumental in establishing QuTech, the EU Quantum Flagship, the House of Quantum, various quantum technology field labs and QDNL Participations, one of the early VC investors in OrangeQS.

After leaving her position as director of Quantum Delta NL earlier this year, Freeke can now draw on the extensive network built up over the years with leading national quantum initiatives, to support OrangeQS in growing its global presence. As an independent consultant, she now offers advice to among others NATO, TNO and Qblox.

Garrelt Alberts, Executive Director at OrangeQS stated:

We are delighted to welcome Freeke Heijman to the OrangeQS Advisory Board. Her extensive experiences with the quantum eco-system and her deep insights into international politics and policies, will be invaluable as we work towards our ambition of becoming the world’s leading supplier of quantum chip test equipment. Freeke’s strategic perspective will greatly enhance our ability to navigate the global quantum landscape and drive innovation as we scale our operations.

Freeke has already made an appearance at the OrangeQS MAX Product Launch. In her talk, she highlighted some of the upcoming challenges for quantum technology value chains and critical raw materials, as well as the positive network effects at play. On building a sustainable culture, she ended with a powerful “Just do it!”. Exactly the kind of mindset we like at OrangeQS.
