Quantum technology is a highly interdisciplinary field where physics, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, and materials science come together to enable new discoveries. Unfortunately, women remain underrepresented in quantum science and technology today. The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is a reminder of the importance of equal participation in scientific discovery and innovation. At OrangeQS, we support initiatives that encourage more women and girls to explore careers in science and quantum technology.

Quote: What fascinates me most about quantum is the engineering behind it. I like the fact that quantum is not only physics, but an interdisciplinary field involving software, electrical, and mechanical engineers. This mix of disciplines allows for innovation in the advancement of quantum computing. You may start as a physicist or a computer scientist, but you will invariably pick up skills from different domains. We cannot grow this industry in isolation; instead, we all benefit from making the field diverse and welcoming.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. Observed annually on 11 February, it recognizes the essential contributions of women in scientific fields and highlights the importance of advancing science and gender equality together to address global challenges.
