Opening a new OrangeQS facility in Delft – Production 2

16-07-2024

We launched Production 2, a facility that hosts the production of our OrangeQS Racks for the R&D market. We made use of this moment to show our local partners and suppliers the assembly space for our industry-level system in Production 1, as well as an automated quantum chip test demo in our test facility Lab 1.

The left picture shows a moment of celebration with the ecosystem of suppliers in the new Production 2 facility. In the middle picture, local suppliers and partners are seeing the industry-level test system, being assembled and tested in our Production 1 facility. The right picture was taken during a demonstration of the user-interface for high-throughput characterization on live qubits in our Lab 1.

We have opened our second production location, aptly named ‘Production 2’. This new facility is used for the assembly of our OrangeQS Racks, a stack of control hardware for quantum device researchers in academia or industry. This rack is part of our full-stack flexible OrangeQS R&D System, but can be purchased separately as a product to complete a researchers R&D setup. An OrangeQS Rack was recently delivered to the group of prof. Christopher Eichler at the FAU Erlangen.

Production 2 is located right next to Production 1, which we use for the assembly and factory acceptance testing of our industry-level test equipment. This facility was launched earlier this year, after the announcement of our first sale to a key producer of quantum chips.

To be able to deliver the first high-throughput test equipment, we rely on components developed by several key suppliers. Over the past years, we have built relationships with them by delivering products including their components or working on joint projects. Delivering a 100+ qubit capable test equipment is an exciting new challenge for the ecosystem, so we were happy to demonstrate what the system will look like and what it will be capable of. Using our development facility Lab 1 in the House of Quantum, we showed on live qubits how the user will execute and monitor test programs on their quantum chip test equipment.
