The Annual NYC Quantum Summit was an inspiring event organized by Center for Quantum Information Physics (CQIP) at the Department of Physics at New York University (NYU). Leading figures from the quantum industry came to share their development activities, with roadmaps towards Quantum Accelerated Supercomputers as one of the common themes and the development of reliable logical qubits and their benchmarking as key milestones.

Last week, our Co-founder and Commercial Director, Garrelt Alberts, represented OrangeQS at the NYC Quantum Summit in New York, where leading voices from academia, industry, and government convened to share strategic roadmaps and technological breakthroughs shaping the future of quantum computing.
A highlight of the summit was the similar vision presented by technology leaders such as Microsoft, NVIDIA, AWS, IBM and Quantum Machines for the development of a Quantum Accelerated Supercomputer, anticipated within the next decade. The discussions underscored the critical convergence of hardware, software, and strategic partnerships required to realize this goal.
IBM identified key milestones, including the creation of the logical qubit and the development of robust benchmarking algorithms to evaluate performance across diverse qubit architectures.

The summit also celebrated a landmark moment for the field: the awarding of the Nobel Prize in Physics to pioneers of superconducting qubits—a recognition of foundational work that continues to propel the industry forward. This achievement was echoed by summit presenters, many of whom have collaborated with the laureates.
