Work on the open-source framework Quantify during the unitaryHACK 2025! The Quantify maintainers have opened three bounties for ‘hackers’ to work on in the coming two weeks.
Sign up for the unitaryHACK’s fifth edition and work on one of the Quantify bounties.
The unitaryHACK starts today until 11 June, where participants (“hackers”) contribute to open source quantum software. They can win cash rewards by solving bounties. It will be an exciting edition, with most registrations of hackers ever registered!
Keep in mind these dates:
- ASAP – Sign up for unitaryHACK!
- 28 May – unitaryHACK 2025 begins.
- 11 June at 5pm AoE – Deadline to submit pull requests.
- 20 June: Awardees finalized and contacted.
Although you can participate in the event fully virtually, there are also physical HACK days.

The unitaryHACK is a unique bug-bounty style program that rewards individuals at all experience levels, building professional skills by substantively supporting our most important open source tools and contributing to a more functional, and featured, quantum computing stack.
Each year, members of the UF work with maintainers of 50 projects to put out issues on their projects that hackers can help resolve and earn money while doing so. The issues can range from simple debugging to more complex quantum-based challenges, and the bounty on each issue reflects its difficulty. This way, hackers are empowered to take on issues that they feel comfortable doing and to build their skills throughout the hackathon to take on more challenging issues. The unitaryHACK has served as a necessary onramp to meaningful open source contributions, aimed at students, classical developers, and quantum enthusiasts. In fact, unitaryHACK is often the first monetary support a developer receives in their career in quantum development.
OrangeQS and other Quantify maintainers have opened up three bounties. If the Quantify maintainers think a hacker solved one of the bounties, they will receive a cash reward between €100 and €200. Does any of these bounties peek your interest?
- Create a chatbot as an easy way to access the Quantify documentation.
- Implement a logging system across Quantify, expanding on the current approach limited to print statements.
- Create a graphical user interface (GUI) for the Quantify-scheduler. You can use the existing Quantify-core prototype interface in the image below as a reference.
