About OrangeQS Juice
OrangeQS Juice is a Linux-based open-source operating system specifically engineered for quantum R&D labs. Juice operates by running a JupyterHub instance directly on the lab’s control computer, which hosts multiple shared Python kernels. Juice is currently in a closed beta phase at AQT Berkeley, QuTech, Chalmers Next Labs and now also University of Cologne. OrangeQS juice will be made open-source in 2026.

By joining the beta-testing programme, the University of Cologne brings a wealth of expertise, a strong commitment to research excellence and a collaborative approach that aligns closely with the goals of OrangeQS Juice. Their participation will help shape the future development of the platform, ensuring the tool will provide real value to users. The participation of University of Cologne in the OrangeQS Juice beta programme is led by Christian Dickel from Andolab, one of the research groups in Physics Institute II.
