Stop by booth 1403 to meet the OrangeQS team and experience hands‑on demos of OrangeQS Juice. We’ll be happy to answer your questions and discuss how Juice can be adapted, extended, and customized through its open‑source architecture to fit your lab’s workflows. You can already explore the OrangeQS Juice documentation ahead of the summit to get a head start.
In addition to Juice, our team will also demonstrate the OrangeQS Suite, a collection of software tools designed to run, automate, and scale quantum experiments.
OrangeQS Juice and the OrangeQS Suite will also be featured at other booths during APS. Be sure to visit the Leiden Cryogenics booth (nr. 1900) and look out for exciting results from a recent joint project.

About OrangeQS Juice
OrangeQS Juice is a Linux‑based, open‑source operating system tailored specifically for quantum research environments. It provides a unified platform to manage complex laboratory workflows, hardware resources, and collaborative development. By being open source, Juice gives research teams full transparency, flexibility, and control over the software stack that runs their quantum experiments.
Juice offers a stable software environment where you can run your own code, monitor your setup, and rely on robust infrastructure while remaining free to inspect, modify, and extend the platform as your research evolves.
Juice runs a JupyterHub instance directly on the quantum R&D system’s control computer, hosting multiple shared Python kernels. Each kernel is dedicated to a core service such as Quantum Device Management, System Monitoring, Cryostat Control, and Task Management, all supported by a dedicated database. This open, service‑oriented architecture makes it possible to integrate custom tools, third‑party software, and new hardware backends.
Leiden Cryogenics mini-fridge running on OrangeQS Juice
Three years after the conception of the ‘mini-fridge’ for quantum R&D, Leiden Cryogenics (LC) successfully finalized a prototype in the Quper project. They tested a new inverted fridge design, allowing for ergonomic tabletop access for operators. By shrinking all components, a much faster cooldown is possible, without the need for liquid nitrogen.
To remotely monitor, control and automate the Quper fridge, we built a new Leiden Cryogenics back-end for SubZero, the cryogenic control software that runs on OrangeQS Juice. This was a great test of the flexibility and extensibility of Juice.
